Anicka Yi Studio seeks an exceptional individual to fulfill a temporary Studio Manager role as the studio relocates operations from Brooklyn to Los Angeles. The incoming Studio Manager will be based in Brooklyn and hired on a full-time basis until the studio completes its relocation to Los Angeles by the end of 2023.
The Studio Manager should be an adept strategist and producer, someone who can balance multiple and disparate projects while implementing and refining day-to-day operating systems. This individual must oversee the administrative needs of the studio and work closely with the production team to provide organizational support. Candidates should be capable of managing multiple projects and timelines while maintaining the overall organization of the studio. Tentacular thinking and operating is a must. The Studio Manager works intimately with the artist in steering and expanding the studio to its many diverse projects and ideas, while striving to foster a holistic and positive work environment. The ideal candidate possesses intuitive navigational skills for the omni-directional flow of the studio, and is chameleon-like in their communication skills, confident, firm, and adept at liaising with a broad range of collaborators, fabricators, vendors, and institutions. The Studio Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient operational flow between the many facets of the studio: fabrication, accounting, exhibition production, research and design, gallery + institutional relations, and logistics surrounding the Studio’s anticipated move to Los Angeles.
